“Cheryl Kosewicz Memorial
Scholarship”
Cheryl’s
commitment to assisting the Children of Clark County in her
legal capacity was only a part of her many tasks. She
volunteered her time to coach the Green Valley High School
Mock Trial Team. Under her guidance, her teams won the state
Championship two years and proceeded to the National
High School Mock Trial Competition: one in Minnesota, one in
Florida. Cheryl later went on to be a Judge in the local
competition.

“The Nevada High School Mock Trial
Program is an outstanding extracurricular activity
that allows students to learn, practice, and
refine the art and skill of trail advocacy. It
takes dedication, commitment, and a great deal of
hard work coupled with teamwork and talent. This
year’s recipient of the Cheryl Kosewicz memorial
Scholarship is a member of the Bishop Gorman High
School Mock Trial Team. This year’s winner has
been a member of the mock trial team for several
years. I have watched him mature and hone his
skills over the past few years. His performance
in this year’s regional competition was amazing.
I’m certain that his dedication was a contributing
factor in the team’s success at the State finals.
This program means a lot to me and meant a great
deal to my dear departed friend Cheryl Kosewicz.
I know she would have been impressed and as proud
as I am to award this scholarship to Brendan
Flynn.” Judge Melissa Saragosa
